Learn about Pinellas County's award winning integrated solid waste management facility. On the tour you will learn the science and principles used to manage the resources you no longer need while touring Pinellas County's waste processing and disposal facilities located in a natural park-like setting.

The choices we make about what we throw away can have long term impacts on our environment. Garbage is not a waste unless it is wasted. Learn how the management of garbage affects health and sanitation, and how best management practices address environmental concerns such as pollution and resource management.

Tour is approximately 1 3/4 hours long and includes a presentation and 45 minute drive around the facility.

A bus will take us around the facility leaving promptly at 2:00 pm.

PARKING TBD.  STAY TUNED.

The claw picks up 6 tons of garbage at a time, which creates 3MW of electricity-a 3 month supply for most homes.

NOTE: This is a free tour
